Class of 2024 Summer Enrichment
Summer enrichment classes offer a fun and engaging way for any student to prepare for her freshman year. Hands-on courses will introduce students to new fields, reinforce academic concepts, and provide practice on the iPad.
Below is our revised schedule. Register here.
Summer Math: Concepts & Skills, Summer English Enrichment, and Algebra I - Part II will be by Visitation invitation only in the summer of 2020. These offerings will be virtual, and students will use their Visitation-issued iPad to participate in class each day. Classes will offer a blend of synchronous and asynchronous work, with time for small group “meetings” and individual help with our Visitation teachers to support a smooth transition to high school.
Even if stay-at-home orders or school guidelines are adjusted during this window of time, these classes will remain “virtual” for the entirety of the four-week term.
Prior to classes beginning on June 29, we will survey students and families to ensure WiFi access and comfort with distance learning.
There will be no classes on July 3, 2020.
All students enrolled in Summer Enrichment programs must familiarize themselves with their Visitation iPad before prior to class. We hope tech orientation will take place safely in small groups on campus prior to Summer Enrichment. If it cannot take place in person, we are preparing resources that families could access from home to set up their new devices.
Dates: Various weeks from Monday, June 29 - Friday, August 14.
Registration: Full tuition is due at registration. Enrollment is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitation will maintain a waitlist in Veracross in the event of cancellations. Visitation reserves the right to cancel any class that does not meet the minimum enrollment.
Financial Aid: A limited amount of financial aid is available for Summer Enrichment courses. If you would like to apply for aid, please email Director of Admissions & Financial Aid Janet Keller at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Credit: Students do not earn credit for summer courses.
iPads: iPads are required for math and English classes to access class content virtually. iPads will be used to take and organize notes, submit assignments, and view course materials. The courses will introduce apps that students will use during the school year, such as Notability. Other classes (in person / on campus) may also require an iPad.
Lunch: Lunch is NOT provided. Students taking multiple classes are responsible for their own lunch / snacks.
Questions: Contact Summer Enrichment Coordinator Eric Chalfin at email@example.com.
