Visitation Chorus Participates in 13th Annual High School Choir Festival


The Visitation Chorus was one of eleven participating youth choirs on January 31 at the Cathedral Choral Society’s High School Choir Festival. Held at Washington National Cathedral, the festival culminated in a free performance, open to the public. Led by Director of Performing Arts Dimitar Nikolov, the young women performed “Set Me As a Seal” before joining with other participating choirs to sing the first movement of Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and “Elijah Rock.”

Visi Chorus performed alongside several local school and youth choirs, including:

  • Edmund Burke School, The Burke Choir

  • Woodrow Wilson High School, Concert Choir

  • Academy of the Holy Cross, Madrigal Singers

  • St. Anselm's Abbey School, Men's Chorus

  • Washington Latin Public Charter School, Latin Voices

  • The MusicianShip, Washington Youth Choir

  • Gonzaga College High School, The Gonzaga Eye Street Boys

  • St. Albans School for Boys and National Cathedral School for Girls, Madrigal Singers

  • The Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, DC, GenOUT Youth Chorus

The choirs were joined in their performance by students from the DC Youth Orchestra Program.
