Practice & Grit: Spring Sports See Success at Season’s End

Summer is just around the corner, as spring sports come to a close.

The lacrosse team won the ISL tournament in a two-day split-game against Holton-Arms. A rain delay and tornado warning disbanded the scheduled game after a successful first half, and play returned two days later. This is the first time that a team other than the Saints has won the title since the league began keeping records 22 years ago. They have ultimately solidified their standing as the #7 team nationally, according to US Lacrosse Magazine. JV Lacrosse celebrated an undefeated season.

The softball team were runners-up in the DC State Championships last week, playing against National Cathedral.

At the DC State Tournament, multiple tennis players advanced in the competition. The team took home third place.

The Crew team is off to Nationals in Camden, NJ. Racing takes place May 25 and 26.

Finally, Track and Field participated in the DCSAA Championships, with Bridget Neill '21 and Kaley Bell '18 putting recording season-best times in the 400m and 200m respectively.
