Practice & Grit: Spring Sports See Success at Season’s End

The spring season is reaching its peak, with summer just around the corner. With a few weeks left of school, there are still opportunities to support our girls as they finish out the year.

The lacrosse team is the #2 seed in the ISL Tournament, hosting a semi-final on Saturday (1 p.m.) with the final scheduled at Stone Ridge, 5:15 p.m. on Monday, May 14. They are currently ranked #8 nationally, according to US Lacrosse Magazine. JV Lacrosse celebrated the end of an undefeated season last week.

The softball team heads to the DC State Tournament (May 14, 16, and 18) with high hopes of progressing in a competition in which they've historically had great success.

The tennis team has the DC State Tournament to look forward to (May 15 to 18) with a record eight players participating in singles and doubles. Play takes place at the Southeast Learning and Tennis Center each afternoon.

The Crew team is off to Philadelphia for their biggest races of the season: the prestigious Stotesbury Regatta, which will see over 180 different schools participate. Racing takes place May 18 and 19.

Finally, the Track and Field team will reach the climax of their season with the ISL Championships this weekend at Holton, and the state meet, May 23 to 24 at Dunbar High School.
