Leonor Limarzi Ponzio '97 Announced as Principal Beginning Next School Year

Leonor (Nori) Limarzi Ponzio ‘97 was recently announced as Visitation’s Principal beginning in the new school year. After an extensive search and interview process by the Search Committee (comprising faculty, Board members, administration, and alumnae), Nori was enthusiastically selected from a large pool of candidates.

An award-winning Catholic educator, Nori has devoted her career to serving in schools. A multi-linguist (fluent in Italian and Spanish), she taught middle school Language Arts, Social Studies, and Math before returning to her alma mater in 2005.

Here at Visitation, she was a member of the English Department for over a decade - and was selected as Visitation’s New Teacher of the Year in 2008 - before stepping into the role of Director of Educational Technology in 2016. She has spearheaded Visitation’s development of a collaborative, mission-aligned vision and program for educational technology - an essential foundation for the school this past year as we pivoted to virtual and then hybrid learning.

However, that just scratches the surface of how Nori lives her vocation at Visitation. While working here, she obtained her Masters of Science degree at Johns Hopkins in Educational Studies with dual certification in Technology for Educators and Administration and Supervision. During her tenure, she has directed our Saturday School program, coached our championship soccer team, served on the Admissions Committee, helped update the schedule and handbook, and served as senior class moderator. Nori brings her expertise, faith, and passion to all that she does here at Visitation.
