“You got it!”
“You’re almost there!”
“Yeah, you did it!”
The voices of juniors echoed through the treetops of the Adventure Park at Sandy Springs this Thursday as members of the junior class cheered on their classmates tackling the physical and mental challenges posed by obstacles perched stories above the forest floor.
With the Junior Retreat postponed until spring due to Covid-19, the Class of 2023 decided to try something new and worked with the administration to plan this special class-bonding field trip. As students enjoyed lunch together in the afternoon, the resounding verdict was that the outing was a great success. Bisola Famuyiwa raved that the day was “was thrilling and exciting all at the same time.”
Classmate Bridget Ourand shared that her “favorite part was getting to see everyone outside of school and really connecting with them.” Amen Alemu felt the same way: “I got to bond with a lot of people that I don’t really have classes with ... it’s another really great memory that I’m going to have.”
Even in a school with deep-seated traditions, there’s always room for something new.
