Freaky Friday Opens on Nolan Center Stage

Visitation Masqueraders took on Freaky Friday this fall, a musical based on the book and famous Disney films, with the Freakier Friday sequel released just this summer.

The production included 17 actors, 14 stage crew members, and a 12-piece pit band. "I love how this show has brought Visi Arts students together - it's very inclusive. Every student has lines and solos," said Director of Performing Arts Dr. Liz Turner. "We love mom-and-daughter stories, and this was very much a relatable show to our students today, their families, and young ones."

Addison '27 played the role of Ellie, the rebellious teen who swaps bodies with her mother. She said, "I think my favorite scene has to be Busted because it’s super fun and everyone has a blast in their role as kids and grown-ups. It is also the perfect representation of how parents and kids function in real life, but turned funny, and the music is upbeat and fun to dance to."

"I am really excited to continue bravely tackling new shows," said Dr. Turner. "Tech week is intense, but also a lot of fun and community bonding together. ... I am proud of the cast for navigating this big show and growing in their roles, the stage crew in their wonderful creative work, and our musicians who have been practicing daily!"
