Fall Athletes Celebrated for Dedication & Accomplishment

With the wrap on the fall athletic season, Director of Athletics Mary Veith ‘05 held an awards ceremony to honor student-athletes during assembly on Monday, November 18. 

“One of the things that has always most impressed me about Visitation students is the love and support you show one another, and so I am excited for the opportunity to honor our athletes’ accomplishments and celebrate them as a community,” said Veith.

All athletes received pins to wear on their kilts, while varsity athletes also received a varsity letter. Each team also chose athletes to honor, and the community celebrated those who won championships and all-league ISL certificates. Team managers were also thanked for their contributions.

Most Improved Player awards included:

Exceptional Teammate was awarded to:

Best Offensive Player was awarded to:

  • Helen B. - Varsity Soccer

Best Defensive Player was awarded to:

  • Caroline K. - Varsity Soccer

A Leadership Award was given to Lee H. on JV Tennis. The ‘Be It Well’ award for strong moral character through practice of the Little Virtues was given to McKayla P., also on Varsity Tennis. The Sister Bernadine Award, named in memory of Sr. Bernadine, VHM who often cheered on the field hockey Cubs, honored Annie M. on Varsity Field Hockey for demonstrating, in Sister’s words, “dedication, love of the game, sense of fair play, and team spirit.”
