Come Join Us for a Virtual VISIt!

Cub for a Day is now Virtual VISIts! Interested eighth-graders must schedule a Virtual VISIt as part of the admissions process - sample classes, chat with Visi girls, and discover Visitation.

“A Day in the Life” of a Cub

Walk in the footsteps of one of our cubs through this one-of-a-kind virtual experience that guides you around Visitation’s beautiful 23-acre campus in Georgetown, giving you a glimpse into each of the classes our freshmen take. Meet our teachers, see classes in action, and hear from students about why they love learning at Visitation. When you sign up for a Virtual Visit, we’ll email this to you to explore at your convenience.

Meet Our Head of School & Principal

Join us virtually to meet Dr. Barbara McGraw Edmondson and Principal Mary Kate Blaine as well as members of our Admissions Team and Student Ambassadors. Ask questions as you get to know more about our community. Head of School meetings happen Tuesday mornings at 8 a.m. the week of your interview.

Interview

We can’t wait to get to know you! Interviews are informal and allow a member of our Admissions Committee to meet you, learn more about your academic and personal interests and achievements, and answer your questions about Visitation. We will use the email that you provide in the student section of the pre-application to contact you for the interview. (We know that parents are excited too, but we ask that students attend alone, as the interview is our chance to get to know her.) There are many other opportunities for families to get to know the school and ask questions, such as, our Open House and Parent Information Night - see the sidebar for more information!

Interviews are required as part of your application process and can be scheduled through the Admissions Portal as part of your Virtual VISIt. These will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from September 29 through December 3. Scheduling opens September 8.

Cub Chat

Once you have signed up for your Virtual VISIt & interview, get to know some of our students and get their perspective on life at Visi in an informal virtual chat. Feel free to join as many as you would like! October 6, 8, and 20 and November 10, 12, 17, and 19 from 6 - 6:30 p.m. Those students who have signed up for interviews will receive log-in details before each event.

Transfer Students: Please schedule your Virtual VISIt in March and April by calling the Admissions Office after March 3rd.

What is a Virtual VISIt?

While we wish we could welcome you to 35th Street to see our beautiful campus, meet our friendly teachers, and get to know our Cubs, the school is currently closed to visitors. So, we’ve created Virtual Visits, which include:

  • A “Day in the Life” interactive experience featuring videos of classes, teachers, and students to help you get to know campus and the Visitation experience
  • A virtual group meeting and Q&A with our Head of School, Principal, Admissions Team, and Student Ambassadors
  • An interview with our Admissions Team (note: interviews are required as part of your application process)
  • A 30-minute group “Cub Chat” with Visitation students (offered on seven evenings in the Fall)

We know how busy you are with school and other commitments and want to make this as easy for you and your family as possible. The Q&A and interview take place during the school day, the Cub Chats take place in the evening, and the “Day in the Life” will be sent to you to be explored at your convenience.
