Nine students were named in the All-Mets announcements from The Washington Post for the winter season, including basketball, ice hockey, swimming, and track. Senior Lucy Thiessen was named Player of the Year for girls' ice hockey.
On Tuesday, March 19, Visitation celebrated its annual Diversity Day with a program focused on the power of storytelling. Several students shared personal stories, and students heard from our keynote speaker, Emmjolee Mendoza-Waters, Director of the Death Penalty Abolition Program for the Catholic Mobilizing Network. Ms. Waters elevated the stories of others and told students to "choose others" as they make decisions.
The Washington Post notes that Georgetown Visitation is a top producer of local alums playing in the NCAA DI tournaments as March Madness kick off, highlighting "defensive whiz" Ellie Mitchell '19 (Princeton), Fadima Tall '23 (Princeton), and Simone Lewis '23 (Holy Cross). Meanwhile, Maria Alvarado '23 at NYU helped the Violets become DIII champions this year!
The junior class celebrated its ring ceremony in mid-March, gathering as a class in the Quadrangle while family, friends, and faculty lined the porches to watch.
