Applying to Grade 9
Step 1 - Discover Visitation by signing up to learn more about us!
Create your Admissions Portal account - you'll be added to our newsletter list and receive reminders and updates about the application process.
Please see here for directions for creating/logging in to your Admissions Portal.
If you already have created an Admissions Portal login for yourself or a previous applicant earlier, no additional login needs to be created. You can sign in with your original Admissions Portal information, and create a new student profile, if applicable.
Step 2 - Sign up for your Cub for a Day visit
Experience life as a Visi girl! Come spend the day with us by signing up for our Cub for a Day program, which is required as part of your application and is reserved through the Admissions Portal. . During your visit, you'll also have a short interview with a member of our faculty or staff. Visits run through early December.
Step 3 - Schedule your HSPT
Visitation requires the Archdiocese of Washington’s High School Placement Test (HSPT) as its entrance exam. Students attending an Archdiocese of Washington school will receive the high-school choice form and take the HSPT at school in November. If a student marks Visitation as one of her three choices on the HSPT application, her scores will be sent to Visitation automatically. A similar procedure for testing will be in place for students attending any of the Archdiocese of Arlington’s elementary schools.
Students NOT attending an Archdiocese of Washington school should visit ADW.org for registration information. The HSPT registration must be sent directly to the Archdiocese. When submitting HSPT registrations, applicants may ask to take the HSPT through Visitation on December 2, 2023.

Essay Questions Preview
As part of Georgetown Visitation's online application, students are asked to write an essay (not to exceed 500 words). They may choose one of the following topics:
1. St. Francis de Sales, co-founder of the Visitation Order, said, "The opportunity of doing great things does not come very often, but at every moment, we can do little acts with great love." As members of the Visitation Salesian community we are called to live this advice through the "Little Virtues": patience, simplicity, humility, gentleness, hospitality, and thoughtful concern for others. Using examples from your own life, how do you exemplify one of these Little Virtues?
2. Describe a meaningful experience or challenge in your life that has helped shape who you are today. What did you learn from it, and how will you apply those lessons to contribute to our community?
