Join the Sisterhood
"I decided to attend Visitation because when I first shadowed here, I fell in love with the warm community, beautiful campus, and delicious croissants!"
"The Visi community is welcoming and extremely warm. There is never a dull moment at Visi because there is always a smiling face around the corner."
"I could best describe the Visitation community as welcoming, vibrant, and fun. Everyone here is happy to be themselves, and brings out the best in those around them."
"Ever since I was in the 7th grade, I’ve been hearing about Visitation. My sister became a freshman that year. I was excited to be a part of everything I’ve heard about - Gold-White, Marshmallow Roast, and the sense of friendship. The way she talked about Visitation, that everyone was sisters - that made me want to come to Visi."
"The bond of sisterhood and lifelong friendships created through the Visi community made me look forward to experiencing all of the amazing things Visi has to offer."
When you become a Visi girl, you join a community bound by sisterhood and timeless traditions, both exuberant and sacred.
Live the
Traditions
Graduation at Visitation is marked by white dresses and gloves, red roses, a final walk through the Green Gate, and a bittersweet singing of Cor Jesu as our students become alumnae, joining a sisterhood of 6,500 women of faith, vision, and purpose.
The juniors receive their class rings together in a ceremony where each student gives a ring to a classmate in an unbroken chain of sisterhood.
Combining faith, fellowship, and food, Visitation hosts two special annual Mass & Brunch events for students - one with their mothers and one with their fathers.
Every class has an annual retreat that facilitates class bonding and spiritual reflection. As freshmen, students participate in a ropes course together. Sophomore Spectacular is an on-campus evening of fun and friends. Junior Retreat is a three-day getaway to Camp Maria. Finally, as seniors, the class gathers one last time for an all-day retreat before graduation.
The day before Thanksgiving break, our entire community gathers to offer thanks and celebrate our diverse heritage through food.
Students, faculty, and staff gather annually in October to learn about and honor Visitation's remarkable history.
Mothers and daughters join the Sisters in the Quad to recite the rosary together by candlelight.
The school is split into two teams: Gold and White. After a spirit week of anticipation, the community gathers for a Pep Rally and sports match with the Gold Team competing in a friendly competition against White Team.
The school comes together to roast marshmallows and "roast" teachers, in skits about school life that are written and performed by each class. The winning class gets a year of bragging rights.
