Meet the Counselors

Kristin Hosmer received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University with a focus in psychology. She received her Masters in Social Work from Boston College and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Her clinical training is in relational theory, women’s development, and adolescent issues. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers as well as the Washington Area Independent School Counselors and American School Counselors Association.

In addition to her work in the Counseling Department, she is the moderator for the Peer Educators Club, Assistant J.V. Basketball Coach, and a member of the Kaleidoscope Committee. She also participates in Class Retreats and is involved in several service projects with Visitation students including the Help the Homeless Walk-a-thon, Saturday School, and summer trips to St. Francis Inn.

Susan Manion has an undergraduate degree from Mt. St. Joseph College in Health and Physical Education and a Masters degree in School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Mrs. Manion has 23 years of experience in education, 14 of those years teaching at the Holton – Arms School. She is a member of the National Association of School Counselors and the Washington Area Independent School Counselors.

In addition to her role as counselor, Mrs. Manion is also the AP coordinator and the standardized test coordinator. She is co-moderator for a new club on campus that focuses on AIDS awareness. She also works closely with the parent representatives to bring speakers to campus that address adolescent issues and parent education programs.
