Visual Arts
The Visual Arts at Visitation endeavor to impart an open and respectful attitude toward people and ideas; an experimental and creative approach to any materials; a strong sense of the discipline and effort required to achieve results; the importance of careful organization; clear analytical thinking and well-focused goals; and an awareness of the joy of learning, thinking, and creating.
Students interested in the visual arts are encouraged to enter design contests for the program covers of Visitation's theatrical productions and to submit their work to the Georgetowner, and the Wicket, Visitation's literary arts magazine and student newspaper, respectively. Student artwork also is displayed throughout the campus and at the Taste of the Arts.
Students who enjoy photography and editing are invited to learn the intricacies of composition, layout and publication as they produce Visitation's yearbook, the Green Gate.
