- Vision Statement
- The Arts Council supports arts programs that benefit students of all interests and ability levels.
- Mission Statement
The Arts Council is a collaboration of parents, students, faculty, alumnae, and art professionals supporting the arts programs at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School. The Arts Council seeks to fulfill the school's strategic priority of providing an intellectually challenging program of studies and co-curricular opportunities that empowers students to meet the demands of a rapidly changing and morally complex world.
Integral to an intellectually challenging program of studies, the arts provide Visitation students a unique forum for acquiring knowledge and experiences and for communicating their ideas and feelings, which together contribute to a well-rounded, integrated educational experience that enables students to believe in their potential, to think independently, and to communicate effectively.
The Arts Council also recognizes that Visitation students face external criteria in competitive college admission requirements in terms of grades, leadership experiences, co-curricular activities, and community service. Through the programs it supports, the Arts Council seeks to provide the young women attending Visitation with the tools and opportunities they need to develop their capabilities and realize their fullest potential.
