Student Activities

Students at the Badlands

The confidence and exhilaration that come from personal accomplishment, leadership, and teamwork continue well beyond the classroom. They are hallmarks of all our many co-curricular programs, particularly our club program.

With over 50 student-led clubs focused on everything from robotics to art, service to journalism, there are countless opportunities for Visi girls to try new things, improve existing skills, and become better leaders. Some students even choose to establish totally new campus clubs.

Leadership Development

Visitation strongly believes in empowering young women to lead and helps cultivate these vital skills at every turn, whether in the classroom, during club period, at the big game, on stage, or at the podium.

Visi girls become leaders in both the traditional and Salesian sense. We strive to help students understand that leading doesn't always mean being the loudest voice; it can mean quietly supporting what is right, serving as an outstanding role model, or providing a place for the voiceless to share their concerns.

Each August, we offer a free Leadership Lab, which provides more immersive study into topics like teamwork, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence.

Types of Clubs

Wednesday Clubs

Each student participates in one Wednesday club, which meets most weeks during the school year during the club period built into the schedule. Some clubs that require a greater commitment—like Chorus and "Wicket," the student newspaper—also meet during morning homeroom.

Afterschool & Lunch Clubs

The school also offers many afterschool and lunch clubs, such as our Kaleidoscope Diversity Club.

Club Sports

The no-cut Ice Hockey, Rugby, and Equestrian clubs offer additional athletic options for our students.
