Director of Personal Counseling
Personal Counselor for the Classes of 2017 and 2019
Mrs. Manion holds an undergraduate degree from Mount Saint Joseph College in health and physical education and a master's degree in school counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She has 27 years of experience in education. She has been at Visitation for over a decade, and previously taught for 14 years at the Holton-Arms School. She is a member of the National Association of School Counselors and the Washington Area Independent School Counselors.
In addition to her roles as Director of Personal Counseling and Counselor for two grade levels at Visitation, Mrs. Manion is also co-moderator of the Peer Educators Club, which trains juniors and seniors to be leaders and role models and raises awareness of adolescent issues. She works closely with students and parent representatives to present guest speakers on these topics, and also participates in class retreats and Campus Ministry trips to St. Francis Inn in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Sarah Thompson is excited and honored to join the Georgetown Visitation Community. She comes to Visitation with 10 years of various school counseling experience. She worked for six years as a high school counselor in Westfield, N.J.
After getting married, she relocated to the metro Washington, D.C. area. Before finding her home at Visitation, she worked as a college counselor at Gonzaga College High School and Episcopal High School. Mrs. Thompson holds a masters degree in School Counseling from Syracuse University, and an undergraduate degree from Villanova University. She has two young children named Andrew and Katarina.
