January & February Traditions

Snowflake & Snowball

The school's two winter dances. "Snowflake" is for freshmen and is usually held in January or February. It is a less formal dance--more like a dressy mixer--and many girls go with a group of friends, with or without dates. "Snowball" is for upperclass students and is also usually held in January or February.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Usually held in February, this week provides parents with an opportunity to show their appreciation to the faculty and staff. The Parents Association provides special treats during the week, culminating with lunch on Friday. Each day parents from one class are asked to bring a particular item; on Friday all classes contribute to the lunch.
