Parents' Association (GVPA)

The Georgetown Visitation Parents' Association, or GVPA, is a vital part of the school community. Through its monthly meetings, guest speakers, educational sessions, fundraisers, and campus events, the organization enhances school life for the whole Visitation family.

All current parents are welcome at regular GVPA Meetings, held the first Monday of each month from September through May. (When the first Monday falls on a school or national holiday, the meeting is the second Monday.) Refreshments are at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting begins at 7. Meetings often include updates on GVPA programs and school happenings, guest speakers, and planning.

The GVPA and its many standing committees help plan and support a wide variety of school events and programs, ranging from our Esprit de Noel annual Christmas market to the Used Book Sale, from new-family welcome parties to teacher appreciation breakfasts. There are many ways to get involved at any level of commitment, whether it's spending just a few hours helping decorate for a big event or leading a team in planning a school program. If you're interested in lending a hand or finding out more, please visit our Committees and Volunteering Pages–or stay tuned for announcements in the school's weekly parent emails or at the next GVPA Meeting.
