Christian Service

Dear Visitation Parents,
Service at Visitation is always a community effort. Many students, parents, faculty and staff are needed to support each Visitation Service Project. This year, we will again implement a team approach to our projects, with a Student Leader, a Parent Coordinator, and a Faculty Moderator taking the reins. The role of the Parent Coordinator is to help plan and advertise the event, solicit and secure other parent volunteer help, and help chaperone the event. Parents, if you have the desire and can spare a little time, please check the Christian Service Volunteer Opportunities list to see where we need your help. Please let me know if you would be interested in serving as the Parent Coordinator if none is assigned. Where a project already has a Parent Coordinator listed, please contact her/him to discuss how you might participate in that particular service project.

Also, please discuss with your daughter the many opportunities she has for Christian Service through the school community. In addition to being a worker, she may wish to serve as a Student Leader. As you will see on the following pages, we have openings for Student Leaders for most projects. New project ideas from students are also welcome. Students may also find their own projects outside school. See the Christian Service Reflection booklet (pages 6-8) for guidelines. As a reminder, every time your daughter completes a service project she should log her hours on a Christian Service Contract which should be signed by you and the project supervisor and returned to me.

Please feel free to contact me by e-mail, voice mail or personally if you have any questions/need more information.
Blessings and thanks!
