Arts
Whether students are interested in mastering three-part harmony, pirouettes, printmaking, or theater props, Visitation offers a wide array of artistic outlets, including theater productions, dance and music groups, vocal and instrumental lessons, visual art classes, creative-minded school publications, technical crew, and crafty clubs.
Our award-winning Nolan Center for the Performing Arts is home to many of our campus art programs. Downstairs, the Dance Studio serves as rehearsal space for our auditioned Dance Ensemble and Irish Dance Club; upstairs, the 500-seat proscenium stage hosts our fall play and spring musical (with sets created by our Tech Crew), as well as numerous performances from our award-winning Visitation Chorus, Madrigals, and others.
Arts at Visitation can be found all over campus—in the St. Joe’s art studio, in the computer labs where students assemble school publications, in our hallways during our Art Show, and in classrooms, where girls fine-tune their artistic skills and gain new perspectives. We also take full advantage of Washington’s vibrant arts scene and myriad museums, and offer field trips and performance opportunities in and around the city that challenge and engage students.

Tech Crew
Creating the set for two drama productions is no easy task, but our students learn skills beyond simply creating.
