Whether students are interested in mastering three-part harmony, pirouettes, or printmaking, Visitation offers a wide array of artistic outlets. Among these are theater productions, dance and music groups, vocal and instrumental lessons, visual art classes, creative-minded school publications, and crafty clubs.
Our award-winning Nolan Center for the Performing Arts is home to many of our campus art programs. Downstairs, the dance studio serves as rehearsal space for our auditioned Dance Ensemble and Irish Dance Club; upstairs, the 500-seat proscenium stage hosts our fall play and spring musical, as well as numerous performances from campus singing groups and others.
The arts also happen elsewhere on campus—in the St. Joe’s art studio, in the computer labs where students assemble school publications, in our hallways during our Fine Arts Exhibition, and in classrooms, where girls fine-tune their artistic skills and gain new perspectives. We also take full advantage of Washington’s vibrant arts scene and myriad museums, and offer field trips and performance opportunities in and around the city that challenge and engage students.
