Dance is a thriving art form on Visitation's campus.
If you're a student who loves to move, you'll discover many ways to share your talents here.
You'll find dance anchoring our spring musicals, putting the "pep" in our Gold-White pep rallies, helping our Irish Dance Club members carry on centuries-old traditions, and providing our Dance Ensemble with new perspectives and an array of exciting performance opportunities.
The heart of our Dance Program is this latter group, the Dance Ensemble, an troupe that learns repertory from award-winning area choreographers in styles ranging from Broadway jazz to hip-hop, classical ballet to modern. Student choreography is also welcomed and celebrated. The group performs several times each year on campus and in the community—including at high profile events like the Cherry Blossom Festival, and with fellow students at the Washington Area Independent Schools Dance Education Association (WAISDEA) concerts and workshops. Ensemble members meet two to three times a week after school for rehearsal.
